Helga Troll, born in Germany studied fine arts in Hamburg at the academy (Hochschule für bildende Künste) and art-education at the University. In 1978 she went to Amsterdam for a post-graduate study of sculpture at the Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten. During and after her studies she had different commissions for buildings, portraits and other works. Her immediate surroundings are often the source of inspiration, where everyday life can be full of meaning and symbols.
The human figure and the figure-group belong to her main themes.
Her work shows a traditional vocabulary combined with present time content and is a statement of the dignity of the human being.
As a figurative sculptor she works with materials such as bronze, stone, clay and plaster.
She has exhibited her work in the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland.
